Our mission at Willis House of Refuge is to change the community one man at a time and to provide transitional housing to ex-offenders, ex-substance abusers, the homeless, and veterans. Our goal is to reach the total man, to minister healing and restoration to every area of their lives, and successfully re-integrate them back into society. Our program will attempt to address all obstacles that have prevented our residents from being productive members of the community. We have created a comprehensive program that encourages spiritual growth, economic stability, social dependence, and a positive self-reflection. This will help us to restore each man back to his original state with completeness, wholeness, and a oneness in God.
Pauline Griffin
I take great pride and honor in allowing the Willis House Of
Refuge to bear my father's name 'WILLIS'. I believe your past
does not have to be your future. The ministry of help is one of my
most strongest attributes and it is my ambition to make a difference
in the lives of others. Today I have accomplished that mission.
We have a newly renovated spacious transitional home for those
who are in need of help. Our twenty-four hour burning light will
serve as a reminder of hope for those who are experiencing
hopelessness. It will light the way to our doors in the community.
I thank God for this God given vision and allowing servant hood to
rest upon my shoulders. I am a repairer of the breach, called,
chosen, challenged, and commissioned ambassador of God, for
those who are seeking life changing experiences.
We will repair the wall which has been rampantly brought down by
various situations, allowing our clients to fulfill their dreams and
aspirations. The Light Of Hope, reaching the Total Man, will have a
comprehensive program that encourages restoration, spiritual
growth, economical growth, and social development in a positive
self image. This will allow our clients to return back to their original
state with a completeness, wholeness, and oneness with himself
and his creator. Therefore, I am excited about the Willis House Of
Refuge being an integral part of the community. It is my personal
desire to change our community one man at a time. Our transitional
home will rest upon the pillar of, Isaiah 58, that admonish us to
share with the needy, "To build the old waste place, to rise up the
foundation of many generation and to be called the repairer of the
breach, the restorer of path to dwell in."
My family and I have taken great pride and joy in making the Willis
House Of Refuge a warm inviting transitional home, and we
extend our hands to the community.
